Among Women: Paintings by Dipika Hazra

About Dipika Hazra
Born in 1947 in Ajmer, Rajasthan, Dipika Hazra has been receiving plaudits for her art since an early age--she won awards from Shankar's International Children's Art Competition in the mid-1950s, and again at the University of Rajasthan, where she received degrees in art in the late 1960s. Since the early 1970s her work has been featured in numerous solo and group shows all over India and her paintings hang in the permanent collections of the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, the Lalit Kala Akademi and the State Gallery of Modern Art in Jaipur, and in numerous other public and private collections in India and abroad. In 1988 Dipika Hazra joined Mayo College Girls' School, Ajmer as Head, Dept. of Arts and Crafts, and since 1992 she has been the Vice Principal of the school.
